I’m a career switcher. I am currently a trainee geography teacher due to complete a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) in summer 2018. Prior to undertaking my PGCE I was an information professional, with over 25 years’ information experience in the public sector and the media, most recently the charity and academic sectors. My key areas of specialism include establishing and fostering professional working partnerships to facilitate knowledge sharing. Leading and implementing organisational change, most specifically in the delivery of information services.
I’m actively involved in several professional associations. In 2017 I was CILIP’s (Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals) President. Previously I have been 2014 President of Special Libraries Association (SLA). On the teaching side I am a member of the Chartered College of Teaching, and a Postgraduate Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society (RGS with IBG)
This blog is my route for sharing and starting conversations with others on happenings and issues facing both the teaching and information profession.
When not thinking about information and or teaching things I’ll be found in the kitchen cooking, baking is my speciality, but I’m also a cordon bleu trained chef.
